Fully operational production facilities maintained

A recent statement from Glaston confirms that production facilities in Finland, Germany, Switzerland and China have successfully maintained operations throughout the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

From the outset, the focus has been on securing the operations, the safety of employees and on continuous support for customers. This means that machines and lines for processing architectural, automotive, solar and appliance glass continue to be delivered to customers throughout the world.

Access into Glaston’s production facilities is prohibited for external suppliers etc, while goods transfers are handled externally. For employees, extensive protective measures, new hygiene guidelines as well as stricter cleaning procedures have been introduced in the offices and production areas, with personnel paying increased attention to safety distance recommendations.

In March and April, 10 tempering lines and two laminating lines have been completed in Finland, involving 57 large sea containers and 34 trailers for transport to customers. Additionally, five containers have been shipped in the same period, containing goods related to upgrade/modernisation projects for existing lines. And in Germany, the company’s Lenhardt facility for insulating glass manufacturing machinery and handling equipment (illustrated) is reported to be running at full speed.
