Duralex and PAiSAN celebrate Made in France with an exclusive glass.

Duralex has partnered with PAiSAN to celebrate Made in France with an exclusive glass, to be found in a Christmas boutique in Paris. To mark the launch of the famous Gigogne glass in 36cl format, the two brands are offering a limited edition, featuring the green of the PAiSAN logo, for sale in the Christmas boutique at 44, rue des Petits Carreaux in Paris until 24 December, as well as on the paisan.fr website.

PAiSAN was created in 2020 with the aim of producing sustainable objects and cultivating links between the people who make these objects and those who use them on a daily basis. A DNA in line with that of Duralex.

Encirc Named Diageo Supplier Of The Year 2023

Encirc has been named Diageo Global Supplier of the Year for the second time in three years with the company’s Managing Director Adrian Curry saying the award is a “huge boost” for the business. The company was one of eight overall award winners announced recently at Diageo’s third Global Brand Supply Procurement Supplier Awards. The coveted awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions external partners make to the Diageo business, thereby helping the company grow their brands in the last year.

Mr Curry said: “It was great news to learn of the award win and we are delighted that Diageo has recognised the innovative approach we put in to giving our customers the very best service possible."

Saint-Gobain Use QR Code To Manage Raw Materials

The Saint-Gobain Herzogenrath float plant pioneers the use of QR codes for raw materials.

The Saint-Gobain Herzogenrath plant in Germany has developed and is currently testing an application to simplify management of the large quantities of raw materials used in flat glass production. Approximately 500 to 800tons of various raw materials are delivered every day, stored in silos and then processed. Each delivery of raw materials is entered manually, which is labour-intensive and does not eliminate the possibility of human error when it comes to invoicing.

Bacardi Cuts Carbon Footprint Of Glass Bottle Production In First For Spirits Industry

Family-owned spirits company Bacardi has successfully completed the world’s first commercial production of a glass spirits bottle fuelled by hydrogen in a trial that took place earlier this month. The trial of pioneering new technology in collaboration with Hrastnik1860 reduces greenhouse gas emissions by more than 30%

The bottle, which for the purposes of the trial was the iconic St-Germain elderflower liqueur bottle, is identical in appearance to the bottle produced using traditional methods and will reach bars and stores in the coming weeks. Over the course of the trial, which produced 150,000 of the brand’s 70cl glass bottles, hydrogen contributed more than 60% of the fuel for the glass furnace, cutting GHG emissions by more than 30%.

Innovations In Flat Glass Recycling In The Netherlands

From recycling to reuse – the Circular Glass network attracted 120 interested parties in The Netherlands.

More than 120 interested parties attended the Circular Glass network meeting led by the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) and in collaboration with Koninklijk Bouwend Nederland Vakgroep GLAS. Intensive research has been carried out for two years into the innovative reuse possibilities of insulating glass. During this network meeting, the promising results of this research were presented and the partners in the field shared their experience with the reuse of flat glass.
