Leading energy drinks producer Osotspa has announced plans for a greenfield glass container manufacturing project in Myanmar. The owner of Siam Glass Industry Co Ltd in Thailand, Osotspa has established the joint venture beverage initiative with Loi Hein Co Ltd, Myanmar’s largest drinking water and beverage business.
AGC Automotive Europe recently celebrated World Quality Day at all European production sites and head office on 14 November. The day is designed to recognise the contributions of quality professionals across the globe. It represented an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the AGC team and organisation. The leading glass container manufacturer in East and Central Africa, Kioo Glass recently completed a planned major rebuild on one of its furnaces. The company was able to plan its scheduled rebuild timing more accurately by using SmartMelter monitoring. When the furnace was drained, the conclusions in the report were confirmed.
An audit was performed on the furnace in March 2019, with support provided from the SmartMelter team both remotely and on-site. The audit was followed by a detailed report and presentation of the findings by the team.

Verallia has inaugurated a €33 million investment at its Burgos plant in Spain. Following reconstruction, the furnace is now one of the largest in Europe. By combining the capacities of its two furnaces, the plant now produces 600 million glass bottles each year, mainly for wine and spirits.
As well as increasing production capacity by 40,000 bottles, the latest investment makes the factory more flexible. The seven production lines are capable of simultaneously manufacturing up to eight different models, standard or customised.

This marks the product’s world debut as in-train signage, with a total of 480 units installed across 60 of Saitama Rapid Railway's train interiors.
infoverre is a glass signage product that uses a special optical resin and lamination technology developed by AGC to attach a display monitor directly onto glass.
USA-based Anchor Hocking has used SmartMelter technology to safely delay a scheduled repair on its furnace in Monaca, PA. The data from SmartMelter monitoring allowed the company to dedicate resources to other projects by operating the furnace 11 months longer than initially planned. When the furnace was drained for repairs, data from the SmartMelter report was validated.
