Apprentice training centre opened in France

Saint-Gobain has decided to create its own Apprentice Training Centre (CFA) to train young people in the group's businesses and meet its recruitment needs, in particular concerning high volume operations, plus activities under stress or emerging.

From October 2020, this CFA will host 70 candidates in two classes. The first, ‘Business and Marketing’, in partnership with the IGS Business School, will bring together 50 young people in Paris and Toulouse, while the second, dedicated to ‘Industrial Maintenance’, in partnership with the CFAI of Lyon, will gather 20 students in Lyon.

At the end of their training, the apprentices will obtain a professional qualification certified by the French Ministry of Employment, ‘Sales and Marketing Manager’, equivalent to a three year higher education diploma, or ‘Higher Technician in Industrial Maintenance’ equivalent to a two year higher education diploma.

By opening this CFA, Saint-Gobain aims to raise awareness of the diversity and richness of its businesses under real-life conditions, to offer professional opportunities to apprentices after graduation and to be a key player in the employment of young people.

The group's ambition is to increase the number of apprentices trained by its CFA to 250 each year, within three to five years and to open up new industrial, logistics and commercial apprenticeship programmes.
