Arglass Yamamura to build first US container plant

Arglass Yamamura LLC is to invest $123 million to build its first glass container manufacturing plant in Valdosta, Georgia, creating more than 150 jobs.

“As a result of our highly trained workforce, unmatched logistics network and pro-business climate, the Peach State has solidified itself as a top competitor for manufacturing investment in recent years” commented Governor Brian P Kemp. “This new facility will generate exciting opportunities for hardworking Georgians in Lowndes County and throughout the region and we are grateful that Arglass Yamamura chose to begin operations here in Georgia.” Arglass Yamamura is a joint venture partnership between Nihon Yamamura Glass Co Ltd, Japan’s leading glass container manufacturer and Cambium Arglass, a privately-held investment company led by José de Diego-Arozamena. Arglass Yamamura has been created to serve customer needs for flexibility, efficiency and customisation and help reduce the need to import glass bottles from overseas. The company will operate a state-of-the-art facility that incorporates the latest glass forming technology and cutting edge environmental controls for a reduced environmental footprint.
