Batch plant commissioned in Mexico

EME has successfully commissioned a batch house for Mexican glass container manufacturer Industria Vidriera de Coahuila (IVC) at Piedras Negras. The project, EME’s second at the site since 2012, features an automatic cullet return system.

The installation supplies batch for furnace five and potentially for a planned sixth furnace, with a total capacity of 950 tonnes/day in flint and amber glass.

The EME design integrated economic concrete silos with a head house in steel. State-of-art equipment made by EME engineering and fabrication allows a high efficiency of the batch plant. Raw materials charging, weighing, mixing and batch transport is controlled from a dedicated control system.
