Improved forecast for heat treatment equipment business
Due to growing demand especially for heat treatment equipment, Glaston’s order intake for the fourth quarter is expected to exceed the level in the fourth quarter of 2019. In its outlook published in the third quarter 2020 interim report, the group estimated that fourth quarter orders will improve from the third quarter but remain below the previous year’s levels. Other parts of the outlook remain unchanged.
Glaston will publish its fourth quarter financials and market and financial outlook for 2021 in the Financial Statement Bulletin on 9 February 2021.
In a separate announcement, a scaling down of the operations of Glaston’s subsidiary in Sao Paolo, Brazil has been confirmed. Critical operations will continue until February 2021 and thereafter, customer support and sales will be conducted together with external parties.
Glaston’s global glass processing expertise is available to South American customers through the company’s regional Americas sales and service team headed by Kimmo Kuusela.
“Supporting our customers in their various business needs is a key priority for Glaston and our customers can rely on our continued help and assistance” Sasu Koivumäki, Chief Sales Officer at Glaston Corp explained. “We consider providing our global expertise through an agency network and dedicated service partners as the right way forward in the region.”
