SECOND VIRTUAL SESSION TO SUPPORT INDUSTRY CALL FOR INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY

Glass Futures is arranging a series of virtual events to explain how the centre of excellence will benefit industry businesses with carbon saving opportunities, while also showing how up-skilling and training will be delivered within a safe environment.

With funding now secured for a collaborative 30 tonnes/day R&D platform, together with members, the organisation is co-designing the world's first global centre of excellence and is reaching out to the global glass supply chain for the best knowledge.

Three ninety minute events, the first of which took place on 27 January with 70+ attendees, detailed the use of raw materials, melting and furnace technology, and refractories (https://www.glassworldwide.co.uk/industry-announcements/stakeholders-gat...).

Session two of the three virtual sessions is due on 24 February, where delegates can ask questions and gain technical insight into digitisation, forming and quality.

Prospective delegates are invited to discover the initiative’s plans, understand the current direction and provide steer to ensure that the world's best, ground-breaking R&D training platform is built to help transform the global glass sector into a modern powerhouse of innovation and sustainability.

A further 90 minute open design session in the series on people, skills and collaboration has been organised for 31 March.

Free tickets for both events are available from: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/glass-futures-open-design-events-tickets-...
