Sharing glass industry knowledge in India
As a supplier of systems and solutions to the glass industry for over 50 years, Eurotherm by Schneider Electric recognises the importance of understanding customers’ problems and requirements. Therefore, industry knowledge sharing sessions are important and regular events across the business.
Recently, Global Glass Business Development Manager, René Meuleman, provided glass industry training for Eurotherm engineering and support teams in Puducherry, India. The session provided an insight to glass manufacturing processes from a power control perspective, with a technical focus on the environmental emission reduction benefits of all-electric melting solutions.
The latest Eurotherm process control solutions were also covered, showing how data analytics help solve customer challenges regarding product quality, equipment reliability and process performance. It was also a good opportunity for the team to learn more about different glass industry processes and the latest industry trends, with many discussions about reducing harmful emissions and improving sustainability in the APAC region.
Global Glass Business Development Leader, René Meuleman, who provided the training commented: “It’s important to share knowledge across our workforce to better understand our customers’ needs from all aspects, as this helps us continue to serve them well.” Regular glass industry knowledge sharing sessions are held across the Eurotherm organisation for all levels of personnel, including office-based staff. HR Director, Karen Page confirmed that employee development is extremely important to the business and is very much part of Schneider Electric’s core values. “Learning how our control solutions are used in the manufacture of glass helps everyone feel more connected and engaged” she confirmed. “They can better understand the value of the work they do and the importance of their particular expertise within our glass market supply chain.”
The Eurotherm India glass team are regular attendees and presenters at important glass events in the APAC region.
