Water risk initiatives recognised

AGC Group has been ranked as an A list water security company by CDP, the international, non-profit organisation working on such environmental issues as climate change. CDP scores companies by reviewing their responses to questionnaires that cover categories relating to ‘climate change’, ‘water security’ and ‘forests’. Companies are scored from A to D based on their responses. The water security category for which AGC was selected for inclusion in the A list surveys and evaluates companies’ awareness and measures for water security risks through their goals and strategies, water input, output and recycling of water usage etc.

In the area of water security, AGC Group focuses on the effective use of water resources and prevention of water pollution caused by its operations. The group has set mid/long-term goals and ensures effective water usage and water pollution prevention based on local risks. Furthermore, AGC evaluates comprehensively local water risks for AGC locations by evaluating the World Resource Institute’s AQUEDUCT tools, as well as data relating to past flood damage and BCP preparedness for flood events.

Other proactive initiatives undertaken by AGC, including reducing water usage, preventing water pollution, effectively utilising water resources and its disclosure of water usage during the product life cycle resulted in the highest A list evaluation for water security.
