44TH ASEAN GLASS CONFERENCE SET FOR THAILAND
The ASEAN Federation of Glass Manufacturers (AFGM) has announced that the 44th ASEAN Glass Conference will take place on 30 October – 3 November in Pattaya, Thailand.
Following postponements in 2020 and 2021 due to the global pandemic, the 2022 conference will be hosted by the Glass Manufacturers Industry Club, The Federation of Thai Industries (GMFTI) with Glass Worldwide as exclusive official journal. The event will be themed ‘Glass: Sustainable World Solutions’.
“After carefully considering the situations, the AFGM has decided that it is time to stage the 44th ASEAN Glass Conference and on behalf of the AFGM, it is my greatest honour to formally invite you all,” said Harris Hendraka, Chairman of the AFGM.
Chair of the GMFTI’s conference organising committee is Somporn Temudomsomboon from Bangkok Glass and further details on registration, call for papers, sponsorship opportunities, programme and COVID health and safety protocols will be announced shortly.
Mr Hendraka added: “The ASEAN Glass Conference has always been the staple of glass industry events in the ASEAN region and this year will be no different. It will give every participant the chance to broaden their network, marketing their brands and products, as well as socialising opportunities with every stakeholder of the glass industry in the region and worldwide. I thank you for the continuous cooperation and support for the AFGM. I am looking forward to welcoming each and every one of you in Thailand.”
The 43rd conference took place in 2019 in Cebu, the Philippines, where a combination of technical and social events attracted attendees from 25 different countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America and Oceania.
The AFGM is now in its 45th year as a regional industry association composed of glass manufacturers in South East Asia. In addition to the GMFTI, AFGM member associations include the Glass Manufacturers’ Association of the Philippines, the Indonesian Glass Manufacturers Association, Glass Manufacturers Association of Malaysia and Vietnam Glass Association.
