Allied Glass wins UK Glass Pack of the Year
Allied Glass are the winners of the 2021 UK Packaging Award’s Glass Pack of the Year: Spirits, Perfume, and Cosmetics category for the striking Shivering Mountain bottle.
Home to The Shivering Mountain Distillery is the Derbyshire Peak District, overlooked by the majestic Man Tor, known by locals as The Shivering Mountain.
It is this location which has been the inspiration for their truly unique and innovative bespoke bottle.
The team at Allied worked with design agency The Allotment and the Shivering Mountain Distillery to produce a premium bottle design which captures the spirit of the Peak District by creating layers of detail and authenticity to be discovered.
Created from the base up, the bottle has been designed with chamfers around the body, so the mountain gives the impression of shivering as it is rotated.
The bottle is wide at the base, tapering towards the shoulder which is embossed with ‘Forged and Foraged for Peak Perfection’ and with a long and slender neck.
Hidden on the base is the final piece of the design experience, the co-ordinates for the mountain from which the gin takes its name.
