The ASEAN Federation of Glass Manufacturers (AFGM) has announced that registration is now open for the 44th ASEAN Glass Conference that will take place on 30 October–3 November in Pattaya, Thailand.

Following postponements in 2020 and 2021 due to the global pandemic, the 2022 conference will be hosted by the Glass Manufacturers Industry Club, The Federation of Thai Industries (GMFTI) with Glass Worldwide as exclusive official journal. The event will be themed ‘Glass: Sustainable World Solutions’.

In his exclusive interview in the July/August issue of Glass Worldwide, Chair of the GMFTI’s conference organising committee Somporn Temudomsomboon commented: “The AFGM technical sessions are always a good venue for both suppliers and customers to meet and discuss the latest trends, technologies and opportunities in the glass industries. Lately, sustainability has been the most discussed topic for our future. Being one of the few sustainable materials due to its intrinsic recyclability, glass manufacturers are striving for excellence in sustainability. The 44th ASEAN Glass Conference is therefore the ideal venue for attendees to explore the next frontier in glass manufacturing.”

Harris Hendraka, Chairman of the AFGM also recently said in Glass Worldwide: “The ASEAN Glass Conference has always been the staple of glass industry events in the ASEAN region and this year will be no different.
