Bending and tempering line orders

Glaston has received an order for a latest generation HTBS line for bending and tempering of large size automotive glasses from Turkey’s Ortakci Glass Inc. In a separate announcement, Glaston’s Emerging Technologies has confirmed receipt of an order for bending and tempering equipment for complex shapes from a USA-based customer within the transport and aviation industry.

Founded in 1977, Ortakci Glass serves automotive, furniture and home appliance customers, both locally and internationally. The HTBS line for bending and tempering automotive glasses relies on Glaston’s broad technological expertise in heating and convection technology. The line has the capability to process glasses up to 2400mm x 1700mm sizes. The line will be delivered in the last quarter of 2020.

In the second project, Emerging Technologies was able to meet high customer requirements, including demand for superior end product quality and increasing production yield. The equipment is designed to bend and temper glass to complex shapes and will be used especially in the transport and aviation industry. Equipment for tempering complex, non-cylindrical shapes is currently not in Glaston’s standard portfolio but the technology is based on the group’s core competencies in glass heat treatment. This order will also be delivered during the fourth quarter of 2020.
