Business of Jewellery Glass infiora Starts in the Wedding Industry
Nippon Electric Glass has developed jewellery glass, branded infiora, which has a brilliance and transparency comparable to diamonds. The company has established a service of renting tiaras made of infiora at the shops of a major dress company that operates wedding businesses across Japan.
The infiora glass has the world’s highest refractive index among colourless transparent glasses. In addition, due to its large light-dispersion characteristics, it emits a strong and beautiful seven-colour sparkle when a brilliant cut is applied to it. NEG’s advanced glass material design technology and its innovative glass melting technology have realised these advantages that enabled the creation of this unprecedented type of jewellery glass.
In 2021, NEG started collaborating with Taro Kamitani, the world’s first tiara designer, in which a piece was created using infiora beads. It’s promotion including the streaming of brand videos that feature famous model, Yu Kinoyama.
