Applications are now sought for the 2023 AGC/Michael Cable Glass Engineering Student Prize. The biannual award was established in conjunction with the Michael Cable Memorial Lecture in alternate years in memory of Professor Michael Cable of the University of Sheffield and his contributions to practical glass making.

The prize is sponsored by AGC Inc of Japan and is open to candidates of any age working part-time or full time in the glass industry and continuing education with affiliation to an educational institute. Applicant must be able to evidence significant contribution to the field with an industrial or applied context. The winning candidate will receive a cash prize of £500 plus a negotiated accommodation and registration cost toward attendance of an international conference on glass to present a paper within their chosen field.
