Unconfirmed reports in the Luxembourg daily media suggest that Guardian Glass is planning to close its float plant in Dudelange, although laminated glass production is expected to continue at the site.

Addressing Luxembourg MPs last week, economy minister Franz Fayot described Guardian as the country’s first industrial victim of the Covid-19 crisis. He commented that slowdowns in the automotive and construction sectors could see demand for industrial glass impacted until 2023.

Guardian’s Bascharage float plant in Luxembourg is not believed to be impacted by the decision.
