Coca-Cola invests in returnable glass bottling

Coca-Cola European Partners Germany is investing approximately €30 million on a new glass bottling line in Mannheim, according to rundschau-online.de. The line is expected to start operations later this year.

The returnable glass system has the capacity to process up to 60,000 bottles every hour. It will fill carbonated drinks in returnable glass bottles for supply to the Mannheim region in south western Germany. Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite and Mezzo Mix, as well as the sugar-free versions of each, will be packaged in 0.2 litre, 0.33 litre and 0.5 litre glass bottles at the facility.
