HORN Glass Industries AG has won an order from Wiegand-Glas to repair an 82.8m2 furnace in Steinbach am Wald, Germany.

The existing furnace will be redesigned to increase the factory’s manufacturing capacity to 270 tonnes/day of green glass, utilising the latest heating and safety equipment, barrier boosting and two replacement batch chargers.

Subsequently, a further order has been placed with HORN to build a second furnace at the Wiegand-Glas plant in Schleusingen.

The contract for this 430 tonnes/day end-fired furnace and three forehearths includes all planning work, furnace equipment and plant erection.
