Growing popularity of bottled beverages

Research has found that the classic order of ‘a pint’ could be a thing of the past for drinkers in UK pubs and restaurants.

The study reveals that over 60% of UK adults will be more cautious about drinking from reusable glasses when they can return to their ‘local’ after lockdown.

Instead, once the doors reopen on 4 July, pub-goers may be more likely to opt for pre-filled glass bottles that have not been used by several people every day.

The online survey, conducted by YouGov on behalf of glass bottle manufacturer Encirc, also found that almost 80% of UK adults who have a local pub are willing to practice social distancing if it means that they can go to the pub.

Furthermore, 67% said they would be in support of local establishments enforcing the measures. Also, some 15% of people said that they were now more comfortable drinking at home than they were before the pandemic.
