Vetropack group have contracted a batch plant and two cullet return systems from Zippe Industrieanlagen as part of the Boffalora project: a new glass factory to be constructed in the Milan region, which replaces the existing plant in Trezzano in 2023.

The ZIPPE batch plant is designed to supply two melting furnaces. It will have seven raw material weighing scales and three heavy duty pan mixers, all featuring the latest technology.

The cullet will be added after mixing by means of nine dosing belt scales.

The cullet return systems will be equipped with the proven ZIPPE scraping and crushing technology.

The project comprises the steel and silo construction, equipment and the control systems. ZIPPE is also responsible for on-site services such as installation, piping, cabling, commissioning as well as training the customer’s personnel.

The installation work will begin in early 2022, production in the new plant in Boffalora is planned for 2023.
