SCHOTT supports climate protection at schools with EUR 120,000

Under the motto Together for the Climate SCHOTT is again combining its own efforts with the Schools and Climate Protection funding project. “We would like to support schools in raising awareness of the problem of climate change among students and motivate young people to come up with their own solutions for more climate protection at their school,” explains Chairman of the Board of Management Dr. Frank Heinricht. The company will be rewarding the best ideas with up to €20,000 to help implement these ideas.

At the start of the new school year, SCHOTT invited around 120 schools in the vicinity of its six German locations to take part in this funding project for the second time. It is aimed at grades 5 to 13 at secondary schools in the regions of Mainz, Grünenplan, Jena, Landshut, Mitterteich and Müllheim.

"We are again very excited to see what creative ideas the students will develop," says SCHOTT employee Sara Castellano-Pfaff, who is responsible for the funding project. The project team also includes employees from each German location who coordinate the company's social commitment on site. The team will evaluate the submitted ideas based on specified criteria. These include the aspects of sustainability, innovation and creativity, team performance and commitment, approach to problem solving, practical feasibility and the quality of the project description.
