SGD Pharma and Corning Collaborate in India
The Indian state of Telangana has announced a future collaboration between SGD Pharma and Corning to bring state-of-the-art technology and manufacturing expertise to the region. This venture will combine Corning’s high-quality pharmaceutical tubing technology with SGD Pharma’s glass vial manufacturing and converting expertise securing primary packaging for Indian and international customers.
“We are proud to partner with Corning and the Telangana State to reinforce the strength of the pharmaceutical industry in Telangana by securing the full supply chain of primary packaging,” said Akshay Singh, Managing Director, SGD Pharma. The intended project of approximately INR 500 crores has the potential to create nearly 150 jobs in the Mahabubnagar District of Telangana. Commercial production may begin as early as 2025.
