A recent announcement from Bucher Industries, parent organisation of Bucher Emhart Glass, confirms that demand for glass container manufacturing equipment plummeted in the first half of 2020.

A significant decline in the consumption of beverages in glass containers caused considerable uncertainty among Bucher Emhart Glass customers and has resulted in project postponements.

The decline in demand in China was even more pronounced than in other regions. In this environment, the division saw order intake fall by more than half compared to the exceptionally high level of the prior year period.

Furthermore, travel restrictions made it impossible for sales staff and service technicians to visit customers on site.
