The Verallia Portugal Figueira da Foz factory has started up the onsite photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 5,600kW available to deliver to the plant. Due to its dimensions, it is one of the largest solar projects in the glass industry in Iberia contributes to the objective of reducing the factory’s carbon footprint.

Verallia's commitment to the environment is reflected in projects such as this one, where the estimated savings in CO2 emissions are more than 3,200 tonnes/year, which will allow the plant to have an electricity consumption autonomy of more than 14% of its annual needs.

This is one of the numerous initiatives that Verallia Iberia has already approved in all production centres in Spain and Portugal and which will be implemented over the coming months.
