Virtual industrial meeting place success

Held from 20 to 22 October, glasstec VIRTUAL bridged the gap between now and the rescheduled glasstec in June 2021.

The event involved digital knowledge transfer, novel presentation possibilities for exhibitors and other virtual networking options for the international glass sector.

The extensive programme included the Glass Associations Summit, powered by Glass Worldwide, where industry figureheads from leading glass trade associations presented a series of regional market reports.

Flat and hollow glass sessions provided valuable information, focusing on prevailing market conditions and how glassmakers have adapted operations during the Covid-19 pandemic.

With glasstec’s virtual portfolio, Messe Düsseldorf shows that it can succeed in bringing together industries worldwide, not only at physical events but also with digital formats” commented Erhard Wienkamp, COO at Messe Düsseldorf.

glasstec VIRTUAL saw over 10,000 experts from more than 110 countries make use of the content offered on the platform.

The proportion of international visitors stood at 73% (the top ranking visitor countries being the USA, Italy, UK, India and Germany). At the Exhibitor Showroom, 800 exhibitors from 44 countries presented their products, solutions and applications, with more than 5000 people participating in the interactive formats.

According to the organisers, all web sessions and conference tracks will soon be available on demand. The showrooms of participating exhibitors will also be available to visitors until glasstec in June 2021.
